Ferry lines to island Cres You can get to island Cres by ferry in a few different ways. If you are travelling by car from the mainland, you can catch a ferry to the island from 2 ports:
Ferries ride daily frequently, and in summer months service is boosted. In case of big crowds ferries ride non-stop. There is no need to book (and no possibility to book anyway). Each ferry trip takes around 25 minutes on Valbiska-Merag line and about 15 minutes on Brestova-Porozina line. Prices are the same for both lines, and they vary with season. In high season it is about 20 one way for a conventional car and another 2.5 per person, including the driver. There are no return tickets, except for the same day return (which are not discounted anway). For the moment, you can pay by credit cards and maestro only at Valbiska-Merag line, you need to have cash at Brestova-Porozina line. From
Rijeka, there is about 50 minutes drive to Brestova and a bit more than
1 hour drive to Valbiska on island Krk. To get to Krk you need to cross
the bridge (a 4 fee applies in direction towards Krk, free on the
way back). Valbiska is a safer port, so in case of stronger winds, sometimes
they close Brestova line. Once on the island, there is around 15 minutes
drive to Cres town from Merag and about 35 minutes drive from Porozina.
